Psilocybin & Psilocin Content in Psilocybe cubensis Mushrooms
Our microdoses range from 25 mg up to 350 mg of whole dried Psilocybe cubensis mushrooms.
For ceremonial doses, you would typically take 1 g+ (1000 mg), depending on your tolerance.
These measurements refer to the amount of whole mushroom material in each capsule — not the amount of pure psilocybin or psilocin naturally present in the mushrooms.
Psilocybin is the main psychoactive compound in these mushrooms, and a smaller amount of psilocin is also present. Once consumed, psilocybin converts into psilocin in your body.
Typical potency ranges for Psilocybe cubensis:
Psilocybin: 0.37%–1.30% by dry weight
Psilocin: 0.14%–0.42% by dry weight
Combined: ~0.51%–1.72%, depending on strain, growing conditions, and harvest stage.
Variability Factors
Potency can vary due to:
Strain differences – Some cultivars naturally produce more of these compounds.
Growing conditions – Substrate, humidity, temperature, and light all play a role.
Flush variation – The first harvest may have less psilocin but later flushes often have more; psilocybin is generally more stable.
Psilocybin & Psilocin Content in Our Offerings
All our offerings (except for gummies) use a unique hybrid cultivar of Psilocybe cubensis, grown with care and intention by our skilled mycologists.
Testing suggests our mushrooms consistently contain ~1.4%–1.7% psilocybin + psilocin combined.
This means:
100 mg of our mushrooms contains roughly 1.4–1.7 mg of psilocybin + psilocin combined.
Why the Numbers Look Different
You might hear a doctor or see a study recommend “1–5 mg of psilocybin” for a certain purpose.
This refers to pure, isolated psilocybin — not whole mushrooms.
Since our mushrooms are about 1.4–1.7% active compounds, you need more total mushroom weight to reach the same number of milligrams of pure psilocybin.
Example:
1,000 mg (1 g) of our dried mushrooms = about 14–17 mg of psilocybin + psilocin.
That’s why our product labels show larger milligram amounts — they’re measured as whole mushrooms, not isolated psilocybin.
