Proper storage is key to preserving the potency, flavor, and energetic integrity of your medicine. While our products remain safe to consume beyond these timeframes, the active alkaloids in psilocybin naturally break down over time, which can reduce their effectiveness.
Capsules, Dried Blends & Loose Mushrooms
Best within: 6 months of purchase for optimal potency.
Why: Psilocybin and psilocin — the active alkaloids — slowly degrade when exposed to light, heat, and oxygen.
Storage tips: Keep in a cool, dark, dry place, away from heat sources and direct sunlight. A cupboard or pantry is ideal. If you live in a warm/humid climate, consider refrigeration (in an airtight container) to prevent moisture.
Note: They’re still safe to consume after 6 months, but potency may be noticeably reduced.
Edibles (Chocolates, Gummies, Cocoa Elixir, etc.)
Best within: 3 months of purchase for full freshness and potency.
Why: These are handmade, minimally processed, and free from preservatives. Over time, both the flavor and psilocybin potency can decline more quickly than in dried forms.
Storage tips: Store in the fridge or freezer, away from moisture. If freezing, wrap well to prevent condensation when thawing.
Special note on chocolates: Our ceremonial chocolates are wrapped but not airtight-sealed. Keeping them cool and dry is essential to prevent melting, bloom, or moisture damage.
Why Proper Storage Matters
Potency preservation: Protects the alkaloids from degrading.
Flavor & texture: Maintains the intended taste and mouthfeel.
Energetic integrity: Keeps the medicine in the state our mycologists and makers intended, holding the care, prayer, and intention infused into each batch.
By storing your medicine mindfully, you honor the medicine, the process, and your own healing journey.
